What happens when you arrange a draft
NoteFrame reads the six text fields in the current page, places their exact contents under selected headings, and displays the result in an editable textarea. It makes no AI or document-processing request. The editor does not use local storage, create an account, or intentionally save a draft between visits. The source map and missing-field checklist are also built in page memory. These are descriptions of this pilot’s implementation, not a general claim about every browser-based note tool.
What browser-only does not cover
The website host still receives ordinary page requests, which can include information such as IP address and browser metadata. Your browser, device, extensions, print settings, and downloaded files are outside the editor’s draft-memory model. A text download creates a copy on your device; printing may create another copy or a PDF. Closing the page does not remove those copies. The Clear button clears this editor’s working fields, not the contents of your Downloads folder or print queue.
Why this is not a compliance claim
HHS cloud-computing guidance explains that handling electronic protected health information can involve business-associate and security obligations. The applicability of those obligations depends on the actual service and relationship. Running a formatter locally does not itself establish compliance, appropriate contracts, or organizational approval. NoteFrame makes none of those claims. This public pilot is for fictional or de-identified practice material and does not provide clinical record storage, access controls, authentication, or an audit trail.
Original fictional privacy review exercise
Imagine testing a tool with a fabricated planning-session example. You load the fictional facts, arrange DAP, edit one sentence, and download a text file. Ask four concrete questions: did the editor send the content anywhere, did it store a draft between visits, where did the download go, and who else can access that device? For this pilot, the first two are answered by its local implementation; the last two depend on your environment. Testing with fabricated content avoids exposing someone’s actual story during that review.
Use a deliberate export habit
Before downloading, remove practice details you do not intend to keep and verify the destination through your browser’s normal controls. After the exercise, manage the resulting files according to your device practices. Do not assume incognito mode, a local-looking interface, or a free tool label establishes suitability for clinical material. For real professional documentation, use the system your organization has assessed and approved. NoteFrame’s value in this pilot is transparent structure and source fidelity, not a security or legal certification.
